Overview

The Char Dham Yatra (8 Nights, 9 Days) is a spiritual journey to Uttarakhand’s four sacred shrines: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The itinerary typically starts from Haridwar or Dehradun, covering picturesque towns like Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi, and Joshimath. Pilgrims visit Yamunotri and Gangotri, the origins of the holy rivers Yamuna and Ganga, followed by Kedarnath, home to Lord Shiva’s revered temple, and Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The package includes accommodation, meals, transportation, and guided temple visits, offering a blend of devotion and scenic beauty in the lap of the Himalayas.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Rishikesh To Barkot

    • (Drive -215 Km /06 Hours Approx.)
    • Today start your journey to Barkot from Rishikesh and overnight stay in hotel at Barkot.
  • DAY 2 : Barkot To Jankichatti To Barkot

    • (Barkot to Jankichatti Drive -45 Km / Yamunotri 06 Km
    • Yamunotri is a sacred place as the origin place of The River
      Yamuna. One of four sacred pilgrims of Uttarakhand. It
      is located at the north of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand. The
      temple was built by Amar Singh Thapa, Gurkha general in 18th
      century. Later the temple was damaged & renovated by Maharani
      Guleria of Jaipur in the 19th century. The source of Yamuna River
      lies in the Yamunotri Glacier which is at a height of 6,387 meters
      (20,955 ft) near the Bandarpunch peaks.
    • After breakfast drive towards Janki Chatti. On arrival, begin 6 Km
      trek to Yamunotri. Once you reach, visit the main Yamunotri
      temple for Darshan; and seek the blessings of Goddess Yamuna Ji.
      After paying homage, trek back to Janki Chatti. From
      here, drive back to Barkot. Dinner & overnight stay in the hotel.
      TO BARKOT

  • DAY 3 : Barkot To Uttarkashi

    • (Drive- 100Kms/04 Hrs approx)
    • After breakfast drive to Uttarkashi. On arrival check in at the hotel.
      At evening visit the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
      Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
  • DAY 4 : Uttarkashi To Gangotri To Uttarkashi

    • (Drive- 100Kms/04 Hrs approx)
    • In the morning after an early breakfast, drive towards Gangotri. Upon
      arrival, take a holy dip in the river Ganges & offer prayer to the
      Goddess Ganges. After Darshan, drive back to Uttarkashi. Dinner
      & overnight stay at the hotel.
    • The holy Gangotri temple is located at this sacred town.
      It is believed that at this place River Ganges descended on the earth
      after severe penance of King Bhagirathi.
    • In the morning after an early breakfast, drive towards Gangotri. Upon
      arrival, take a holy dip in the river Ganges & offer prayer to the
      Goddess Ganges. After Darshan, drive back to Uttarkashi. Dinner
      & overnight stay at the hotel.
      (Drive- 100Kms/04 Hrs approx)
      The Gangotri Temple was built by the Gurkha general Amar Singh
      Thapa in the early 18th century. The Ganges originates from
      Gaumakh which is accessible after 19 Kms trek from Gangotri.
      During winters the temple remains inaccessible due to heavy snowfall
      so the statue of Goddess Ganges is brought down to Mukhba,
      a small village in Harsil which lies on the way to the Gangotri
      Shrine.
  • DAY 5 : Uttarkashi To Guptkashi

    • (Drive- 230Kms/09 Hrs approx)
    •  After breakfast drive towards Guptkashi. Upon arrival check in at
      the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
  • DAY 6 : Guptkashi To Gaurikund

    • (Drive- 30Kms/02 Hrs approx) Gaurikund To Kedarnath (17Kms trek – one way)
    • Start the drive at 0530 hrs sharp to Gaurikund.  Sonprayag is the closest stop before Gaurikund at a distance of 06Kms. Private vehicles are allowed
      only till Sonprayag. (Hire the local vehicle
      from Sonprayag to Gaurikund)
    • Upon arrival start the trek on the zigzag and well laid trail to
      Kedarnath or there are other options of pony or doli available on
      rent.
    • On arrival check-in at hotel, freshen up and visit Kedarnath
      Ji. Pay homage to the divine statue of Nandi bull, located at the
      temple entrance gate. Attend the evening Arti and offer your
      prayers to Lord Shiva.
    • You can also visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, the grave of
      Adi Guru Shankaracharya, located at the premises of
      Kedarnath temple which is also one of the most popular spots
      at Kedarnath. After offering prayers get back to hotel for an
      overnight stay.
    • Kedarnath Dham is one of the pre-eminent divine
      temple of Lord Shiva. Temple is situated in a breath
      -taking location, near the source of Mandakini River.
    • Kedarnath temple is highest located among the 12
      Jyotirlingas and is also the most important temple
      among the Panch Kedars (group of five Shiva temples
      in Garhwal Himalayas)
  • DAY 7 : Kedarnath To Guptkashi

    • (Drive – 120 Kms/05 Hrs approx.)
    • In the morning participate the arti at and abhishek at Kedarnath temple & take blessing from Kedarnath ji. Later after breakfast trek down to
      the same way where you came from. On
      arrival Gaurikund drive to Guptkashi and check
      into a hotel followed by dinner & overnight stay.
  • DAY 8 : Guptkashi To Badrinath

    • (Drive – 150 Kms/07 Hrs approx.)
    • In the morning, after breakfast drive to the holy shrine of
      Shri Badrinath Ji. There are various temples on the way like
      the Vasudev temple, Vandevi temple, Gurudwara Sahib,
      Garur Ganga temple, Hanuman temple, Ekadashi Gufa. Upon
      arrival at Badrinath, check in at the hotel. Freshen up and
      visit Shri Badrinath ji. Take a holy dip in Tapt Kund, followed
      by a visit to the main temple for Darshan and to seek the
      blessings of Shri Badrinath Ji. After the visit take some rest. In the evening you can visit the shrine for Arti Darshan.
      BADRINATH.
  • DAY 9 : Badrinath To Haridwar

    • (Drive – 310 Kms/9 Hrs approx.)
    • After temple Darshan proceed drive to Rishikesh and drop at Rishikesh
    • “Badrinath Dham is located between the two mountains ie Nar and Narayan, Badrinath Dham or Badrinarayan temple is a holy shrine,
      dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The sacred temple is first among the four holiest
      Char Dham of India & prime among the Chota Char Dham of Uttarakhand.
      The majestic holy shrine is also one among the 108 Divya Desams
